To make Coconut Modak, take 1 tbsp of Desi Ghee in a heated Pan, then add 1 cup of Desiccated Coconut.
Roast it with the Ghee on low flame for 3-4 minutes.
After roasting for a few minutes, it will give a nice aroma, at this point, we will add 1/2 cup of Milkmaid/Condensed Milk.
Stir and mix it well.
Add 1 tbsp Malai to the mixture.
Add 2 tbsp Sugar to the mixture.
Stir and Mix everything well.
Add 1/2 cup of Milk to the mixture. Boil the milk and let it cool at room temperature.
Now, stir and cook the mixture on low flame until it starts leaving the Pan.
Here, add yellow food color(completely optional), and 1/2 tsp of Hari Elaichi Powder.
Mix everything well and then add 1 tbsp Desi Ghee.
Now, it has start leaving the Pan, we will turn off the flame and keep is aside for 15 minutes to let it cool down a bit.
After 15 minutes, the mixture is ready to make the Modak, so take a Modak Mould and brush it with Desi Ghee.
Fill the Mould with the mixture. Press the mixture hard so that it fills the mould and gets a nice shape.
Close up and remove any extra mixture. Open the Mould, and the delicious Modak is ready.
Garnish with chopped nuts and dried Rose petals.
