How to make Curd | Dahi Recipe | Homemade Indian Yogurt

Curd or Dahi is also known as Indian Yogurt. In this homemade curd or dahi recipe, learn how to make thick curd at home.

Ingredients
  

  • 500 ml Milk
  • 1 tbsp Curd

Instructions
 

  • To make thick Curd, take 500 ml of full cream milk in a pot.
  • Now, turn on the gas and put the pot on the gas on medium to high flame. Wait for a boil.
  • After boiling, let the milk simmer on a low flame for 5 minutes. Stir often in between.
  • Turn off the flame after 5 minutes. Let the milk cool down a bit. It should be lukewarm. Check with 1 finger if it is still too hot then let it cool down further or proceed to make curd.
  • Add 1 tbsp curd to the bowl.
  • Mix well using a hand whisker.
  • Cover the lid and keep it aside for 6-7 hours. It usually takes 4-5 hours in the summer season.
  • The curd is ready now. Serve in clay pots. Enjoy
