For storing the Amla(Gooseberry) for a year, we will first need fresh Gooseberries. Here, I’ve taken around 1.5 kg of Amla.
Properly wash the gooseberries and roughly chop them into small pieces. Discard any Amla that is rotten.
Add all the chopped pieces to a grinding jar, along with 1 cup of Curry leaves.
Grind on pulse mode. It will get a coarse texture. For now, we will call it Amla Mixture.
Take a large mixing bowl, place a strainer over it, and then place a thin muslin cloth over the strainer and pour the Amla mixture on it.
Fold the cloth from all sides, and then squeeze out the juice present in the Amla Mixture.
The Juice is ready. Now, we will proceed to store it.
Take the ice cubes tray. Pour the Amla Juice on it and freeze it overnight.
The Amla Ice cubes are set.
Take the Amla cubes out in a bowl.
For storing the Amla Juice, place the Amla cubes in a zip lock bag or an airtiight jar, and put them in the freezer.
When you want to drink it, you can simply take out an Amla cube and mix with lukewarm or normal water.
