Pyaz Ka Paratha Recipe: Onion Paratha

Pyaz Paratha or Onion Paratha is a very flavorful and delicious stuffed Paratha made with wheat flour, onions, herbs & spices.

Ingredients
  

  • 1.5 cup wheat flour
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp desi ghee
  • 3 finely chopped onion
  • ¼ cup coriander leaves
  • 2 green chilli
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • ½ tsp garam masala
  • ½ tsp Amchur powder
  • ½ tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp Kasuri Methi
  • salt to taste
  • Water for making Dough
  • Desi Ghee for cooking Paratha

Instructions
 

  • Take 1.5 cups of wheat flour in a mixing bowl. Add ½ tsp salt and 3 tbsp desi ghee.
  • Mix everything well, gradually add water, and knead the flour with your hands to make a soft dough.
  • After making the dough, cover it with a plate and keep it aside for 20 minutes.
  • Chop and prepare the following veggies: 3 finely chopped onions, ¼ cup coriander leaves, 2 green chilli, 1 tsp cumin, 1 tsp red chilli powder, ½ tsp garam masala, ½ tsp Amchur powder, ½ tsp coriander powder, 1 tsp Kasuri Methi, and salt to taste.
  • Add all the chopped veggies and spices into a mixing bowl. Mix well.
  • The Chatpata masala mixture for the Paratha is ready now.
  • Make small Rolls out of dough to make Paratha.
  • Dust with wheat flour and make a hollow space to fill the mixture.
  • Take a spoonful of mixture and fill in between. Seal the edges.
  • Roll with a rolling board and pin to make Paratha.
  • Cook on medium to high flame.
  • Flip it when one side gets roasted. Apply desi ghee and flip again.
  • Apply desi ghee on the other side too.
  • Roast and cook until both sides get crisp and cook well.
  • Serve with chutney, pickle, yogurt, and ketchup.
