Sirka Pyaz Recipe - Vinegar Pickled Onions

Sirka Pyaz or Vinegar onion is the best condiment that is eaten as side dish and it just enhances the flavor of the meal.

Ingredients
  

  • 20 onions
  • 1 beetroot
  • 5 green chilli
  • ½ cup water
  • 4 cloves
  • 10 black pepper
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • ¾ cup vinegar

Instructions
 

  • Take around 20 small-sized onions
  • Now, make a deep cut on each onion. The cut should be in a plus sign. This will ensure that the onion will soak the flavor of “Sirka” and the onion will be so tasty.
  • Take the following veggies: 1 small beetroot and 5 green chilli. Finely Chop the beetroot, and divide the chillies into two parts and keep them aside.
  • Take a saucepan. Add ½ cup of water, 4 cloves, 10 black pepper, 2 tbsp sugar and 1 tbsp salt. Mix it well. Now put it on medium flame over the gas. Stir so that the sugar melts. Let it boil. After a boil, turn off the flame and let it cool for a minute.
  • Take a large mixing bowl and add the chopped veggies, onions, and chilli water.
  • Now, add ¾ cup vinegar and mix it well. After mixing, you can see the nice color of the vinegar-pickled onion.
  • Now, take a glass jar and add the onions and vinegar to it.
  • Refrigerate it for 24 hours to let the onions marinate.
  • The vinegar onion is ready to serve. Serve it with your favorite meals.
