To make sun-dried tomatoes at home, bring home 1.5 kg of fresh and ripe tomatoes from the market.
Properly wash and dry the tomatoes of any moisture. Now, cut out the top.
Chop the tomatoes into small or large pieces. Keep in mind that the tomatoes will shrink in size after drying out in the sun.
Place the chopped tomatoes on plates.
Sprinkle salt on the tomatoes.
Place the plates in an area where you get ample sunlight and which is dust-and humid free. If the place attracts dust, you can also cover the tomatoes with a thin cloth.
Let the tomatoes dry for 4 days.
After 4 days, the tomatoes have dried and shrunk in size and are ready to use.
