Tandoori Paneer Tikka Dry Recipe

This Paneer Tikkar is a very popular dry vegetarian starter served in every Indian restaurants.This recipe shows how to make Paneer Tikka on Stovetop without using Hung Curd.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 tbsp mustard oil
  • 3 tbsp gram flour(besan)
  • 1 tbsp Kashmiri red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp kasuri methi
  • 1 tsp chaat masala
  • salt as per taste
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
  • 1/2 cup curd
  • 1 tsp black pepper powder
  • 1 chopped capsicum
  • 2 onion petals
  • 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 200 gm Paneer

Instructions
 

  • Take 4 tbsp mustard oil in a kadhai. Heat on high flame. Once the oil is hot enough, turn off the flame and let it cool.
  • Add 3 tbsp gram flour(besan). Mix it well with oil
  • Keep stirring and scrap the sides or it will burn. Once cooked, it will give off a nice smell.
  • Add 1 tbsp kashmiri red chilli powder. It adds a nice color. Mix it well.
  • Transfer the mixture to a mixing bowl
  • Add the spices - 1/2 tsp garam masala, 1/2 tsp cumin powder, 1 tsp kasuri methi, 1 tsp chaat masala, salt to taste and 1/2 tsp black pepper powder. Mix well and add 1/2 cup curd and 1 tsp black pepper powder.
  • Add 1 chopped capsicum, 2 onion petals and 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste. Mix it well.
  • Add 200 gm Paneer. The Paneer is cut into cube shape
  • Mix Paneer with the mixture using your hands so that it doesnot break. Cover and keep it aside for 30 minutes.
  • After 30 minutes, remove the cover and mix it again for few seconds.
  • Take Tikka sticks and now add capsicum piece followed by onion piece and then a paneer piece. Repeat the same process for all BBQ sticks.
  • Now, we will start cooking it on the gas. The gas flame should be high.
  • Keep rotating the sticks above the gas. Do not keep in one place for more than few seconds or it will burn.
  • Repeat the same process for other sticks as well. The Paneer Tikka is ready.
