Poha Cutlet Recipe

Poha Cutlet or Poha tikki is a very crispy and healthy evening snack made from Poha (flattened rice), potaot, and spices.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cup Poha
  • 3 medium sized potato boiled and grated
  • 3 chopped green chilli
  • ¼ cup chopped coriander leaves
  • 2 chopped onion
  • ¼ cup besan(gram flour)
  • 1 lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  • ½ tsp coriander powder
  • ½ tsp garam masala
  • ½ tsp red chilli powder
  • salt as per taste.
  • Oil for frying

Instructions
 

  • Take 2 cups of Poha. Wash it properly 3-4 times under running water so that it is clear of dirt and impurities and becomes soft. Leave it aside for 15 minutes.
  • After 15 minutes, we will transfer the Poha to a mixing bowl and mash it well with hands.
  • Keep the following veggies ready: 3 medium sized potato (boiled and grated), 3 chopped green chilli, ¼ cup chopped coriander leaves and 2 chopped onion.
  • Now, add all the chopped veggies and grated potato to the mixing bowl.
  • Add ¼ cup besan(gram flour), 1 lemon juice, ½ tsp cumin powder, ½ tsp coriander powder, ½ tsp garam masala, ½ tsp red chilli powder, salt as per taste. Mix everything well.
  • Mix it well and mash everything together so that it gets a dough like form.
  • Grease your hands with oil and make Tikki(cutlet) out of the dough. First make small balls and then flatten it with your hands. to make tikkis or patties.
  • Similarly, make the rest of the Tikkis in the same manner.
  • Heat oil in a kadhai/pan. Once the oil is heated, add the cutlet to the kadhai. Shallow Fry on medium flame.
  • Once a side gets fried, flip it to the other side to fry both the sides evenly.
  • We will keep flipping and frying it once it changes color to golden brown and becomes crispy.
  • Serve it with tomato ketchup and green chutney. Enjoy your tasty and crispy Poha Cutlet.
