Take 2 cups of Poha. Wash it properly 3-4 times under running water so that it is clear of dirt and impurities and becomes soft. Leave it aside for 15 minutes.
After 15 minutes, we will transfer the Poha to a mixing bowl and mash it well with hands.
Keep the following veggies ready: 3 medium sized potato (boiled and grated), 3 chopped green chilli, ¼ cup chopped coriander leaves and 2 chopped onion.
Now, add all the chopped veggies and grated potato to the mixing bowl.
Add ¼ cup besan(gram flour), 1 lemon juice, ½ tsp cumin powder, ½ tsp coriander powder, ½ tsp garam masala, ½ tsp red chilli powder, salt as per taste. Mix everything well.
Mix it well and mash everything together so that it gets a dough like form.
Grease your hands with oil and make Tikki(cutlet) out of the dough. First make small balls and then flatten it with your hands. to make tikkis or patties.
Similarly, make the rest of the Tikkis in the same manner.
Heat oil in a kadhai/pan. Once the oil is heated, add the cutlet to the kadhai. Shallow Fry on medium flame.
Once a side gets fried, flip it to the other side to fry both the sides evenly.
We will keep flipping and frying it once it changes color to golden brown and becomes crispy.
Serve it with tomato ketchup and green chutney. Enjoy your tasty and crispy Poha Cutlet.
