  • 3 medium-sized potatoes (boiled and grated)
  • 3 chopped green chilli
  • ¼ cup chopped coriander leaves
  • 2 chopped onion
  • ¼ cup besan(gram flour)
  • 1 lemon juice, ½ tsp cumin powder
  • ½ tsp coriander powder
  • ½  tsp garam masala
  • ½ tsp red chilli powder
  • salt as per taste.
  • Oil for frying

How to make Poha Cutlet with Potato

1. Take 2 cups of Poha. Wash it properly 3-4 times under running water so that it is clear of dirt and impurities and becomes soft. Leave it aside for 15 minutes.

2. After 15 minutes, we will transfer the Poha (flattened rice) to a mixing bowl and mash it well with our hands.

3. Keep the following veggies ready: 3 medium-sized potatoes (boiled and grated), 3 chopped green chilli, ¼ cup chopped coriander leaves, and 2 chopped onions.

4. Now, add all the chopped veggies and grated potato to the mixing bowl.

5. Add ¼ cup besan(gram flour), 1 lemon juice, ½ tsp cumin powder, ½ tsp coriander powder, ½  tsp garam masala, ½ tsp red chilli powder, and salt as per taste. Mix everything well.

6. We will mix it well and mash everything together so that it gets a dough-like form.

7. Grease your hands with oil and make a tikki (cutlet) out of the dough. First, make small balls and then flatten them with your hands. Keep it slightly thick. You can give it any shape you like and prefer.

8. Similarly, make the rest of the Tikkis in the same manner.

9. Heat oil in a kadhai/pan. Once the oil is heated, add the cutlet to the kadhai. Shallow Fry on medium flame. We will not deep fry it. You can also make it completely healthy by using an air fryer.

10. Once a side gets fried, flip it to the other side to fry both sides evenly.

11. We will keep flipping and frying it once it changes color to golden brown and becomes crispy.
