Paneer Paratha Recipe: Paneer Stuffed Paratha

Paneer Paratha is a type of Indian flatbread and is a very popular breakfast dish among vegetarians and paratha lovers. Paneer Paratha is one of my favorite dishes to make and it is also loved by my family members. They always want me to make this paratha and they just love it. It is delicious, full of nutrients, and has so much flavor because of the coriander, cumin, onion, and paneer present in it. About Paneer Paratha

Paneer Paratha is nothing but crumbled paneer(Indian cottage cheese), spices, veggies, and herbs stuffed inside a flatbread made with wheat flour. Paneer Paratha can be served as a breakfast dish, as a side dish with Curry, or as the main meal with Pickles, Chutney, and mixed jam for the kids in the lunchbox. It is very healthy and contains many nutrients that are required and the filling can be customized as per taste and availability.

Paneer Paratha Ingredients

  • 1.5 cup wheat(atta)
  • 1/2 tsp salt(for dough)
  • 2 tbsp desi ghee(clarified butter)
  • 1 cup grated Paneer
  • 1 medium-sized chopped onion
  • 1 chopped green chilli
  • coriander leaves
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • salt to taste(for stuffing)
  • Desi ghee or butter for cooking

How to Make Paneer Ka Paratha (Step-by-Step)

1. Mix 1.5 cup wheat flour and 1/2 tsp salt in a large mixing bowl. Add 2 tbsp desi ghee.

2. Gradually start adding water slowly to make a soft dough and knead it well for 5 minutes. Keep it aside for 15 minutes.

3. Take 1 cup of grated paneer. Take a block of Paneer(Indian cottage cheese), and grate it using a hand grater.

4. Take a mixing bowl and add the grated paneer, 1 chopped onion, 1 chopped green chilli, coriander leaves, 1 tsp cumin, and salt to taste and mix everything well.

5. Grease your hands with ghee and keep some wheat flour on a plate.

6. Divide the dough into small balls and flatten a ball with your hands. Create a hollow space in between to place the stuffing.

7. Place a tablespoon of stuffing in the middle and bring the edges together to seal the stuffing inside the dough ball.

8. Use a rolling pin and board to roll out the stuffed dough ball to make paneer paratha.

9. Heat a tawa on medium flame. Once hot, place the rolled-out paneer paratha on the tawa and cook for a minute or until you see bubbles forming.

10. Flip the paneer paratha, and brush it with ghee or butter. Cook for a minute and then flip the paratha again to brush the other side as well with ghee.

11. Cook both sides until it turns golden brown.

12. Serve with pickle, chutney, and Tomato ketchup. Enjoy your delicious paneer paratha.

Paneer Paratha Recipe – Paneer Ka Paratha

Ingredients
  

  • 1.5 cup wheat flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt for dough
  • 2 tbsp desi ghee
  • water as required
  • 1 cup grated paneer
  • 1 onion
  • 1 green chilli
  • 1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • salt to taste for stuffing
  • desi ghee for greasing and cooking

Instructions
 

For Dough

  • Mix wheat flour and salt in a bowl. Add desi ghee and gradually start adding water slowly to make a soft dough. Knead for about 5 minutes.
    Cover it and keep it aside for 15 minutes.

For Stuffing

  • Take a mixing bowl and add the paneer, chopped green chilli, coriander leaves, cumin and salt. Mix well.

For making Paratha

  • Grease your hands with desi ghee.
  • Divide the dough into balls. Take a ball, flatten it and make a hollow space in between.
  • Place a tablespoon of paneer stuffing in the middle. Bring the edges to seal the stuffing inside.
    Roll out the stuffed paneer to give it a paratha shape.

For Cooking Paratha

  • Heat a pan on medium flame. Once hot, place the stuffed paneer paratha on the tawa and cook for about a minute or until you see bubbles forming on the surface.
  • Flip the paneer paratha, brush ghee on both sides, and cook until it turns golden brown.
  • Serve it with raita, chutney, pickle and tomato ketchup. Enjoy.

Note – Paneer paratha is a very flexible dish so you can add any ingredients in the stuffing that you like. You can use oil in place of ghee(clarified butter). Add more veggies such as Cauliflower and Carrots to make it even healthier. Onions are used for flavor and you can control the spiciness of the paratha by using more or fewer green chilli.
