  • 1/2 cup Maida
  • 1/2 cup Cornflour
  • 1 tsp crushed Black pepper
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tsp Dhaniya powder
  • 2 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp Aamchur Powder
  • Oil for frying
  • Peri Peri masala
  • Mayonnaise
  • Mix of tomato ketchup with Mayonnaise

Instructions

  • To make Potato Spiral or Potato Twister at home, take 3 medium-sized potatoes. Properly wash and dry them.
  • Now, insert a long pointed bamboo stick or a skewer through the potato in the middle.
  • Take a sharp knife and keep it diagonally, cutting a continuous spiral around the potato. Make sure to rotate the potato as you cut and do not cut all the way through. For more, you can check the video.
  • Now, gently pull the potato spirals apart along the stick or skewer.
  • Take water in a bowl and put the Potato Spiral in the water to prevent it from getting dark. Put it aside.
  • Take a mixing bowl, add 1/2 cup Maida, 1/2 cup Cornflour, 1 tsp crushed Black pepper, salt to taste, 1 tsp Dhaniya powder, 2 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder, and 1 tsp Aamchur Powder. Mix well.
  • Add water gradually to prepare a slightly thick and runny batter.
  • Coat the Potato Spirals with the batter.
  • Heat oil in a Kadai on medium heat. Deep fry the Spirals on low to medium heat until they turn crispy and golden brown.
  • Season with Peri Peri masala, mayonnaise, and a mix of tomato ketchup with Mayonnaise, which tastes delicious and makes the snack so flavorful.
  • Serve it, enjoy.
