How to make Gobi Paratha (Step-by-Step Instructions)

Gobi paratha Stuffing or Filling

1. Wash a cauliflower properly in fresh water and then grate it into small pieces. Use a hand grater for this because it will finely grate the cauliflower or else our Paratha may break when we roll it.

2. Heat 2-3 tbsp oil in a kadhai/wok.

3. Once the oil is heated, add 1 tsp cumin, and 1/2 tsp carom seeds and fry them.

4. Add 1 tbsp grated ginger and fry it. Next, add 2 chopped green chili.

5. Add grated cauliflower. Add salt as per taste, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp coriander powder, 1/2 tsp red chili powder. Mix well

6. Add chopped coriander leaves and mix well. The stuffing is ready. Keep it aside for now.

How to make Gobi Paratha Dough

7. Take 3 cups of wheat flour, 1/2 tsp salt, and 5 tsp desi ghee in a mixing bowl. Mix well.

8. Gradually add water to make a soft dough. Grease your hands with oil and knead well for 5-7 minutes. Leave it aside for 15-20 minutes.

9. Divide the dough into small balls. Take one dough ball and roll it into a small circle with a rolling pin and board.

10. Place a spoonful of the cauliflower stuffing in the center of the rolled-out dough circle. Bring the edges of the dough together to cover the stuffing completely inside.

11. Flatten the stuffed dough ball slightly and dust it with some flour on both sides. Roll it out gently into a thick circle to make paratha.

How to Cook Paratha

12. Heat a tawa/pan on medium flame.

13. Place the paratha on the tawa and cook roast it until it turns golden brown on the bottom side.

14. Flip the paratha. Apply desi ghee on the cooked side and then flip it again and spread desi ghee on the other side as well. It will ensure that the paratha will cook perfectly.

15. Cook the paratha until golden brown spots appear on both sides.
