Mango Mastani

Mango Mastani is one type of mango milkshake that is a very thick, refreshing, and delicious drink. It is a trendy drink that originated in Pune, Maharashtra, but now it is popular all over India. It is very thick and creamy, containing milk, ice cream, dry fruits, and mango chunks. It is a perfect refreshing dessert for the hot summer months when mangoes are available in the market. There are also so many variants and flavors of this drink, like Orange Mastani, Rose Mastani, and Chocolate Mastani. To make it more tempting, I’ll top it with mango chunks, vanilla ice cream, and dry fruits, and decorate it with edible silver and gold balls.

There is a difference between Mango Mastani and a normal Mango Milkshake as the former uses a generous amount of ice cream, while both use ripe sweet mangoes such as Alphonso and Dasheri. You can also use other flavors of ice cream like butterscotch that you like. To make it richer, you can use condensed milk and add a lot of dry fruits and mango pulp for a creamy taste.

Mango Mastani Ingredients

  • 4 peeled and chopped mangoes for mastani
  • 1 chopped mango chunk for garnishing
  • 1/4 cup Sugar
  • 2 cup milk
  • 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream for Mastani

  • 2 scoop vanilla ice cream for serving in each glass
  • edible silver and golden balls for garnishing (optional)

How to make Mango Mastani

1. Take 4 ripe mangoes. Wash them properly, then peel and chop them into small pieces as shown below. Use any variety of sweet mangoes available but don’t use the mangoes that have a sour taste.

2. Chop 1 mango into small pieces or mango chunks and keep it aside for garnishing.

3. Take a grinding jar and add all 4 chopped mango pieces. Add 1/4 cup brown sugar. You can use normal sugar too and if you don’t want to add sugar, use Mishri.

4. Add 2 cups of cold milk. Don’t use warm milk.

5. Grind it to make a smooth paste-like consistency.

6. Next, add 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream. Blend for 10 seconds. I’ve made the vanilla ice cream at home. You can also check how to make a Vanilla Ice cream recipe.

7. The delicious Mango Mastani shake is ready. Now, we’ll serve it.

8. Take a glass and add mango chunks, chopped dry fruits like almonds, cashews, and pistachios, and 1 scoop of vanilla ice cream.

9. Next, add the Mango Mastani and 1 scoop of vanilla ice cream at the top.
