In this Condensed Milk Recipe, I’ve shown the traditional method on how to make condensed milk or Milkmaid at home. In my day-to-day cooking, I often require condensed milk especially while making Indian sweets and desserts so, I thought of making this Sweetened condensed milk at home with just 3 ingredients. This Milkmaid Recipe shows an easy way of making this thick and creamy condensed milk with full-fat milk, sugar, and baking soda at home. This traditional method requires some time and stirring but the result will make your recipes using condensed milk such as cakes, Ladoo, and Sweets so much more delicious.

Condensed Milk Recipe Ingredients

  • 1/2 litre milk
  • 6 tbsp sugar
  • 2 pinch baking soda
  • 1 tsp water

How To Make Sweetened Condensed Milk at Home

1. To make condensed milk, take a Pan. Add 1 tsp water.

2. Next, add 1/2 liter of full-fat milk to the Pan.

3. Stir gently and let the milk boil on a high flame.

4. When the milk boils, turn the flame to medium, and add 6-7 tbsp sugar.

5. Keep stirring the mixture gently.

6. Now, as you can see the mixture has reduced a little. Add 2 pinch baking soda.

7. Keep stirring the mixture. Keep in mind that after adding baking soda, the mixture will come up so turn the flame to slightly less than medium.

8. The mixture will start to thicken so stir continuously and let it thicken.

9. The condensed milk is ready. Check the thick and creamy consistency.

10. Transfer it to a bowl and refrigerate it for 2-3 hours or you can also keep it at room temperature to let it cool down. After cooling down, it will get more thicker.
