Bazlama Turkish Flatbread Recipe

Bazlama Turkish Flatbread Recipe

In this Bazlama Turkish Flatbread Recipe, I’m sharing one of the most popular and delicious flatbreads from Turkish cuisine. Bazlama is a circular bread that does not require much kneading and can be cooked in a Pan easily. It requires minimum ingredients to make like Refined flour, salt, sugar, yeast, and water. It is very versatile and can be stuffed with various veggies or chicken. It can also be used as a base for making Pizza or used as a wrap for rolls and sandwiches. However, today I’ll be sharing an easy and simple Bazlama recipe without any stuffing and grease it with Chilli butter for an awesome flavor. You can serve it with any Paneer Gravy like Paneer Lababdar, Paneer Tikka Masala, and Kadai Paneer along with accompaniments like Sirka Onion and Dahi Boondi Raita for a complete meal and serve it to your friends and family.

Bazlama Turkish Flatbread Recipe Ingredients

  • 1.5 cup Refined Flour
  • ¼ tsp Yeast
  • ½ tsp Sugar
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • Lukewarm water for the dough
  • 2 tsp refined oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • ½ tsp red chilli flakes
  • 1 tbsp coriander leaves

How To Make Bazlama Turkish Flatbread Recipe

1. Take a mixing bowl. Add 1.5 cups of Refined Flour(Maida), ¼ tsp of Yeast, ½ tsp sugar, and 1/4 tsp salt. Mix everything well.

2. Now, gradually add lukewarm water to prepare a soft dough. Don’t use normal water or cold water.

3. Once the dough is ready, add 1 tsp refined oil and mix it well with the dough.

4. Tuck the dough to give it a round shape and keep it in the bowl. Grease it with 2-3 drops of oil. Use a cling film to wrap around the bowl to let the dough ferment. Keep it aside for 1-2 hours.

5. Take 2 tbsp of butter in a small bowl. Add ½ tsp Red chilli flakes, and 1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves.

6. Mix everything well. Keep the butter mixture aside.

7. After 1 hour, check the dough. Punch and knead it for 1 minute. Now, we will prepare balls out of it. You can keep the size of the balls as per your preference. I’m making medium-size Bread so the balls are medium size.

8. Before rolling it, take dry flour on a plate and coat the dough ball in it.

9. Roll the balls just like making a Roti using a rolling pin and board. Don’t roll it thin. It should be thick as shown below. Keep the size as per your preference.

10. Heat a Pan on medium flame. Put the rolled bread in the Pan and cook it.

11. Keep flipping and press gently to cook both sides evenly.
