The Almond or Badam Milkshake is very healthy and has so many benefits for our body and mind. You can drink it without having a second thought. We all know that almonds are very healthy and give our body all the essential nutrients by simply including them in our diet. The benefits of badam shake are as follows:

  • It helps manage weight as it is rich in healthy fats and fiber, making you feel full and reducing cravings. It improves digestion and prevents constipation.
  • Milk contains calcium which is essential for our bones and teeth.
  • It contains vitamin E – an antioxidant that improves our immunity and helps maintain healthy skin and eyes.
  • Almond milkshake is low in cholesterol and sodium, so it is good for the heart.
  • It regulates blood sugar levels so people with diabetes can drink it without a problem. You can drink it instead of consuming caffeine or sugar and increase your energy levels.

Badam shake Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup Almond soaked overnight
  • 6 and a 1/2 cup milk – Use normal full-fat milk or almond milk to make it vegan
  • 1/4 tsp saffron
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  • 6 tbsp brown sugar
  • Ice cubes optional
  • Pistachios and Almonds for garnish

Preparation

To make Badam shake, soak 1/4 cup of almonds in the water overnight.

Peel the outer layer of the almonds and keep them aside.

How to make Badam Shake or Almond Milkshake

1. Take 1/4 cup of peeled almonds that we soaked overnight.

2. Take a grinding jar and add the peeled almonds to the grinding jar.

3. Add 1/2 cup milk to the jar. I have used normal milk however, you can also make it completely vegan by using almond milk.

4. Grind until you get the fine paste-like consistency as shown in the video and the photo below. keep it aside for now.

5. Boil 6 cups of milk in a kadai at high flame. Wait until 1 boil.

6. After 1 boil, add 1/4 tsp saffron. Mix well.

7. Add 1/2 tsp of cardamom powder. Mix well and cook for 3-4 minutes on medium flame.

8. Add the almond paste. Mix the leftover paste in the jar with some milk and pour it into the kadai. Cook for 8-10 minutes on low to medium flame.

9. Add 6 tbsp sugar. I used brown sugar to make the shake. You can use the normal sugar and adjust it as per your taste. Cook for 4-5 minutes on low flame. Keep stirring, scrap the sides and add them to the mixture.

10. Once the desired consistency is reached(the milk gets slightly thicker and reduces in quantity). Turn off the flame and let it cool and then refrigerate for 5-6 hours.

11. Take it out and use a whisker to mix it well. Scrap the sides.

12. Transfer the mixture to a jar.

13. Add some ice cubes and Pour them into a glass. Garnish with chopped pistachios, and almonds, Enjoy.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/4 cup Almond soaked overnight
  • 1/2 cup milk for paste
  • 6 cup milk for boiling
  • 1/4 tsp saffron
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  • 6 tbsp brown sugar
  • Ice cubes optional
  • Pistachios and Almonds for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Take 1/4 cup of peeled almonds(soaked overnight for 5 hours).
  • Add 1/2 cup milk and almonds in a grinding jar. Grind it until you get the desired consistency. Keep the almond paste aside.
  • Boil 6 cups of milk into a kadai/wok at high flame
  • Add saffron, cardamom powder. Mix well and cook for 3-4 minutes on medium flame.
  • Stir in between, scrap the malai(cream) formed on the sides.
  • Add Almond paste and cook for 8-10 minutes on low to medium flame.
  • Add brown sugar. Stir in between. Cook for 4-5 minutes on low to medium flame. Turn off the flame once you get the desired consistency.
  • Let it cool and then refrigerate for 5-6 hours.
  • Pour in a glass, add ice cubes and garnish with pistachios and almonds. Enjoy
