In this Mango Shrikhand Recipe, I’ll show you how to make a sweet mango-based dish with juicy mangoes and curd. It is also known as Amrakhand and this Mango Shrikhand is a variation of a normal Shrikhand. It is a thick, creamy, smooth, and delicious yogurt that you’ll fall in love with.

Mango Shrikhand Ingredients

400 gm of Fresh curd

Saffron Milk. ½ tsp Saffron soaked in warm boiled milk

4 Sweet Mangoes- Use only Ripe and Sweet Mangoes such as Alphonso and Dasheri.

2 tbsp Powdered sugar

Chopped Nuts, Dried Rose Petals, and Saffron Strands for Garnish

How To Make Mango Shrikhand | Aam Ka Shrikhand

Make Hung Curd

1. To make Mango Shrikhand, first we have to make hung curd. Take a large bowl, place a strainer over it, and then place a thin cotton or linen cloth over the filter.

2. Pour 400 gm of Fresh curd over the cloth.

3. Press and squeeze out the excess water from the curd in the bowl.

4. Transfer the grey-colored water to a separate bowl. Keep it aside. This water can be used to make other popular dishes such as Kadhi.

5. Now, again place the strainer over the large bowl. Place the curd along with the cloth over it. Fold the cloth properly.

6. Place a plate over the cloth and some heavy weight over the plate. Refrigerate it for 4 hours so that any leftover water is squeezed out and it doesn’t become sour.

7. After 4 hours, take it out. You can see that the curd has now changed into Hung Curd which has a Paneer-like texture.

Make Mango Shrikhand

8. Now, transfer it to the bowl. Use a hand whisker and a spoon to beat it until it becomes creamy.

9. Add Saffron Milk. ½ tsp Saffron soaked in warm boiled milk.

10. Beat it again using a spoon to mix it well. Keep it aside.

11. Wash and dry 4 Sweet Mangoes. Cut and chop them into small pieces.

12. Add the chopped mango pieces to a grinder and blend to get a smooth, creamy paste-like texture.

13. Now, pour the mango paste into the bowl containing the Curd mixture. Mix using a whisker to get a smooth and rich Mixture.

14. Add 2 tbsp Powdered sugar. Mix well.

15. Refrigerate the mixture for 3-4 hours.

Mixture refrigerated for 4 hours

16. The delicious Mango Shrikhand or Amarakhand is ready now. We will serve it traditionally in a small mud bowl.

17. Garnish Aam Shrikhand with chopped nuts, dried rose petals, and saffron strands to make it even more tempting and flavorful.

Serve the delicious Amrakhand with Poori or as a dessert.
