Milk Cake Ingredients

  • 1.5 lt full-fat milk
  • A Pinch of Alum Powder
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 4 tbsp Desi Ghee
  • Chopped Pistachios and Dry Rose Petals(optional)

How To Make Milk Cake

1. To make the milk cake sweet, take 1.5 litres of full-fat milk in a heavy bottom pan. If you have an iron pan, you can use that.

2. Let the milk boil on a high flame. Stir often.

3. After a boil comes, stir it continuously and let it get thicker.

4. As the quantity gets halved, add a pinch of alum powder.

5. To set the Sweet, take a steel or aluminium tray, and grease it with desi ghee.

6. As the mixture gets thicker, scrap and add the Malai deposited on the sides. Add 1/2 cup sugar. Mix well and let the sugar melt. As soon as the sugar dissolves, add half a cup of sugar.

7. Keep stirring until the mixture gets thickened to the consistency as shown below. Now, add 3 tbsp of Desi Ghee. Stir and Mix well.

8. Stir and cook until the mixture gets to the consistency where it starts leaving the Pan.

9. Pour the mixture into the tray.

10. Now, cover the tray and wrap the tray with a thick towel. This is necessary as the cake retains the heat and gives the sweet a rich brownish color. Let it set for 5 hours or keep it overnight.

11. After 5 hours, check the sweet. Remove the towel. You can see that the texture of the milk cake has come out to be perfect.

12. To remove it from the tray, first cut the sides with a knife then flip it and tap the bottom, The rich-looking milk cake will come out easily.
