This Kada Prasad Recipe or Atta Halwa, also known as Karah Prasad, is an offering served in Gurudwaras such as the Golden Temple in India. It has a very deep spiritual significance as it is served in equal proportions in the Sikh Gurudwaras as a sacred offering to devotees irrespective of their caste and social status. It is made with just four ingredients, three of which, whole wheat flour, clarified butter, and sugar, are in equal proportion, and the fourth one, water, is doubled. This Gurudwara Kada prasad is not just a sweet dish, it is a symbol of pure devotion and equality.

1. To make Kada Prasad, take 1 cup of Desi Ghee(Clarified butter). Keep 4 tbsp aside now and put the rest in the Pan on a low flame.

2. Add 1 cup of Atta(Whole wheat flour) to the Pan.

3. Mix it well with the Ghee, and roast on a low flame for a nice texture.

4. Stir continuously so that it does not burn.

5. Keep stirring, and when the mixture changes color to deep golden brown and starts to give a nutty aroma, add 1 cup of sugar.

6. Stir and mix well. Cook on a low flame for 3-4 minutes, then turn off the gas.

8. Continue stirring in the clockwise direction to make a lump-free mixture.

9. As the mixture thickens and gets to the halwa-like consistency, add the leftover Desi ghee we kept aside.
