Thandai Recipe Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup cashew
  • 1/4 cup almonds
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 2 tbsp poppy seeds(khas khas)
  • 1-2 tbsp pistachios
  • 15 rose petals
  • 2-3 tbsp melon seeds
  • 1 tbsp fennel seeds
  • 1/2 tsp saffron
  • 7-8 cardamom
  • 12-15 black pepper
  • warm water
  • 3 cups of cold milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar

How Thandai is Made – Step-by-Step Instructions

1)Take chopped dry fruits – 1/4 cup cashew, 1/4 cup almonds, 1/4 cup raisins, 2 tbsp poppy seeds, 1-2 tbsp pistachios, the spices – 2-3 tbsp melon seeds, 1 tbsp fennel seeds, 1/2 tsp saffron, 7-8 cardamom, 12-15 black pepper, and 15 rose petals.

2) Add all the ingredients to a mixing bowl.

3) Soak the dry fruits and spices in warm water for at least 2-3 hours or overnight. You’ll see that the dry fruits will get soft.

4) In a blender, add all the ingredients to grind the soaked nuts and spices.

5) Grind to make a smooth paste-like texture to be used as thandai masala.

6) Leave some paste in the jar, add cold milk, and mix well.

7) The mixture will get foamy. Now, add sugar and grind it well.

8) Pour in a glass.

9) Garnish with saffron, pistachios, and rose petals.

10) Serve chilled with ice cubes.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/4 cup cashew
  • 1/4 cup almonds
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 2 tbsp poppy seeds(khas khas)
  • 1-2 tbsp pistachios
  • 15 rose petals
  • 2-3 tbsp melon seeds
  • 1 tbsp fennel seeds
  • 1/2 tsp saffron
  • 7-8 cardamom
  • 12-15 black pepper
  • warm water
  • 3 cup cold milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar

Instructions
 

  • Take a bowl and add all the dry fruits and spices
  • Add warm water and leave it for 2-3 hours
  • Grind it and make a fine paste
  • Leave 5-6 tbsp paste in the jar. Add 3 cup cold milk in the jar.
  • Add 1/2 cup sugar and grind it.
  • Add 3-4 ice cubes in a glass and pour the mixture.
  • Garnish with pistachios and saffron.
