So, in this new Poha samosa Recipe, I’ve shared an alternative to maida and used Poha or flattened rice to make samosa. They are so crispy and taste so yummy that this will become your next favorite snack recipe. This healthy evening snack recipe is made using Poha, so it is very healthy for your family and kids. Poha is made from flattened rice flakes. Poha is a very versatile dish in itself as it is used to make many snacks and breakfast dishes. Poha contains a lot of nutrients and though I’ve used oil for frying, you can also use an air fryer which will make it a completely healthy and a new snack recipe that you can easily make the next time you are craving to eat Samosa at home.

Poha Samosa Ingredients
For Dough
- 4 cup poha
- warm water
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp carom seeds
For Stuffing
- 3 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp fennel seeds
- 1 tsp cumin
- 2-inch grated ginger
- 2-3 chopped green chilli
- 1/2 cup frozen peas
- 1 tbsp gram flour
- 1 tsp amchur powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 2 tsp red chilli powder
- salt to taste
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 6-7 boiled and mashed potato
- 1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves
For frying
- oil
How to make Poha Samosa Recipe – (Step-by-step Instructions)
To make Dough
1. Take 4 cups of Poha in a bowl. If you have a bowl as shown in the picture below, it would be easier as it will become easy to wash it.
2. Wash it with normal water and leave it aside for 15 minutes.
3. Mash it with your hands.
4. Gradually add warm water.
5. Keep adding warm water and mash it to prepare a soft dough.
6. Add 1/2 tsp carom seeds and 1 tsp salt to the dough and mix well. It will give a nice flavor to the Samosa.
7. The dough is ready. Cover it and leave for 15-20 minutes.
To make Stuffing
8. Heat 3 tbsp oil in a kadai. Spread it evenly.
9. Add 1 tsp fennel seeds and 1 tsp cumin. Fry them.
10. Add 2-inch grated ginger and 2-3 chopped green chilli. Stir and Fry them.
11. Add 1/2 cup of frozen peas. Cook well on low flame until peas become soft.
12. Add 1 tbsp gram flour. Stir well and cook on low to medium flame.
13. Add 1 tsp amchur powder, 1 tsp garam masala, 1 tsp cumin powder, 2 tsp red chilli powder, salt to taste, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, and 1 tsp coriander powder. Stir and cook for 30 seconds on low flame.
14. Add 6-7 boiled and mashed potatoes. Mix well on low flame. It will bind the stuffing together.
15. Add 1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves. Mix well.
16. Stuffing is ready. Leave it aside for 15-20 minutes.
To make Poha samosa
17. Knead the dough for a few minutes to make it soft.
18. Prepare small balls from the dough and flatten them to make samosas. Make a hollow space in between for filling.
19. Place lemon-size stuffing in between.
20. Seal the stuffing completely inside. Press to slightly flatten it.
21. Heat oil in a kadai for frying on medium flame.
22. Add as many samosas as possible to the kadai and fry on medium to high flame.
23. Fry until they are golden brown and crisp.
24. Serve with green chutney and ketchup. Enjoy.

To make Dough

- Add grated ginger and chopped green chilli. Fry them.
- Add frozen peas. Cook well
- Add gram flour. Mix well and cook on low to medium flame.
- Add amchur powder, garam masala, cumin powder, red chilli powder, salt to taste, turmeric powder, coriander powder. Cook for 30 seconds on low flame.
- Add boiled and mashed potato. Mix well on low flame.
- Add chopped coriander leaves. Mix well.
- Stuffing is ready. Leave it aside for 15-20 minutes.
To make poha samosa
