Poha is also rich in iron so it helps with iron deficiency and is good for women during pregnancy. Today, I’ll share two unique and different recipes with Poha that are not only healthy but also very delicious that you can make at home.
Poha Snacks Recipe 1

Ingredients
- 6-7 cup Poha
- 3 glasses of water
- 3 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp cumin
- 1 tbsp red chilli flakes
- ½ tsp black pepper powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- Chopped coriander leaves
- Oil for frying
Step-by-Step Instructions to make a crispy Poha snacks recipe
1. Take 6-7 cups of Poha. Wash the Poha properly under the running water. Keep it aside for 15 minutes.
2. After 15 minutes, transfer it to a separate plate. Add 2-3 glasses of water.
3. Add 3 tsp of salt.
4. Add 1 tbsp cumin, 1 tbsp red chilli flakes, ½ tsp black pepper powder, and 1 tsp baking soda. Mix everything well.
5. Add chopped coriander leaves. Gradually add water to make a soft dough.
6. From the soft rough dough, take out a big piece of dough.
7. Take an empty milk packet and fill it with a piece of dough. Now, make a small cut at the edge of the milk packet and spread the dough into any shape over a cotton piece of clothing. Let it dry at room temperature below the fan overnight and flip to dry the other side.
8. It has dried well. Keep them on a plate and leave them to dry overnight at room temperature again.
9. Similarly, spread the remaining dough and you can dry them under sunlight too. Just remember to flip it to the other side too.
10. The dried Poha pieces are ready to fry now. You can store it in an airtight container. It does not get spoiled for one year. Whenever you want to eat it, you can take it out and fry it.
11. Fry them at high flame. The oil in the kadai should be hot.
12. The crispy Poha snack is ready. You can sprinkle chaat masala and red chilli powder and enjoy this crispy Poha snack in the evening during tea time.

Ingredients
- 1 cup poha
- 5 tbsp oats – if you don’t have oats, you can add 6 tbsp of suji instead of 3 tbsp.
- 3 tbsp suji
- 1 inch chopped ginger
- 5-6 garlic cloves
- ½ cup curd
- 1 and ½ cup water
- ½ chopped green capsicum
- 1 grated carrot
- 1 chopped onion
- 3-4 chopped green chilli
- ¼ cup chopped coriander leaves
- chopped curry leaves
- 1 medium-sized grated potato
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp red chilli flakes
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp Eno or 1 tsp baking soda
- Desi ghee for cooking
Step-by-Step Instructions to make a tasty Poha snacks recipe
1. Take 1 cup of Poha and place it over a sieve. Now, we will wash it and let it rest for 5 minutes.
2. After 5 minutes, add the Poha to a mixer grinder.
3. Add 5 tbsp oats to the grinder.
4. Add 3 tbsp suji/rava to the grinder.
5. Add 1 inch of chopped ginger and 5-6 garlic cloves. You can skip garlic if you don’t eat it.
6. Add ½ cup curd and 1 and ½ cup water. Grind to a smooth batter.
7. Transfer the batter to a mixing bowl.
8. Keep the following veggies ready: ½ chopped green capsicum, 1 grated carrot, 1 chopped onion, 3-4 chopped green chilli, ¼ cup chopped coriander leaves, and chopped curry leaves.
9. Add all the veggies to the bowl and also add 1 medium-sized grated potato.
10. Add 1 tsp cumin, 1 tsp red chilli flakes, and 1 tsp salt, and mix well.
11. Add 1 tsp Eno or 1 tsp baking soda. Add 1 tsp water and mix well.
12. Heat a kadai on low flame. Grease it with a tbsp of desi ghee. Pour a ladle full of batter on the kadai and cook on low flame for 3 minutes after covering it.
13. After 3 minutes, remove the cover and you can see that it has cooked well from the bottom side. Apply a tsp of desi ghee on top and flip it to cook the other side as well for 3 minutes.
14. The crispy and tasty Poha snack is ready. It is similar to Cheela but is thicker and smaller in size. Enjoy this crispy breakfast or snack with green chutney.
