While there are methods to keep them fresh for a few days, this easy method will let you dry cilantro and store it for a year without refrigerator. This is particularly very useful when they are abundantly available in winter season.

How to store coriander leaves

1. To store the green coriander, take a bunch of fresh green coriander leaves.

2. Properly wash thoroughly the coriander leaves under cold running water to remove any dirt and insects, or any impurities, and pat dry them off by placing them on a clean kitchen towel to remove any moisture that can lead to decay.

3. Clip the roots and chop the leaves roughly.

4. Now, place the leaves on a plate at room temperature under a fan to completely dry off. Mix in 1-2 days. Air drying in a dry and well-ventilated room preserves the flavor. The process takes 5-10 days.

5. Here, after 6 days, the coriander leaves have become crisp as they have completely dried, and there is no moisture left in them.

6. Here, you can grind them at his stage to make coriander powder.

7. To preserve and store it, transfer the dried leaves to a ziplock bag, press to remove any air, and seal the bag. You can also store it in an airtight container.

You can keep the bag in a cool, dry place. The shelf life would be around 12 months with maximum flavor retention up to 8-10 months.
