- 20 onions
- 1 beetroot
- 5 green chilli
- ½ cup water
- 4 cloves
- 10 black pepper
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp salt
- ¾ cup vinegar
How to make Sirka Pyaz – Step-by-Step Recipe with photos
1. Take around 20 small-sized onions
2. Now, make a deep cut on each onion. The cut should be in a plus sign. This will ensure that the onion will soak the flavor of “sirka” and the onion will be so tasty.
3. Take the following veggies: 1 small beetroot, 5 green chilli. Finely Chop the beetroot and divide the chilies into two parts. Keep them aside.
6. Take a saucepan. Add ½ cup of water, 4 cloves, 10 black pepper, 2 tbsp sugar and 1 tbsp salt. Mix it well. Now put it on medium flame over the gas. Stir so that the sugar melts. Let it boil. After a boil, turn off the flame and let it cool for a minute.
7. Add the chopped veggies, onions, and chili water in a large mixing bowl.
8. Now, add ¾ cup vinegar and mix it well. After mixing, you can see the nice color of the vinegar-pickled onion.
9. Now, take a glass jar and pour the onions and the onion sirka into it. Let the onions soak in vinegar.
10. Refrigerate it for 24 hours so that the onions are marinated well with the sirka. This will give them an amazing taste and flavor.
11. The very tasty, tangy, and delicious onion sirka or sirka pyaz is ready. Enjoy it with your favorite meals to enhance the taste and flavor of any food. You can also store and use it for 15 days and when the onion gets over, you can make them again and add them to the glass jar.
