Vegetable Chow Mein Recipe Ingredients
For Noodles
- 1 liter of water
- 1 tsp salt and 1 tbsp oil
- 1-2 tbsp of Refined oil
For Sauce
- ½ tsp Vinegar
- 1.5 tbsp soya sauce
- 1 tbsp Red chilli sauce
- 1 tbsp Green chilli sauce
- 1 tbsp Tomato Ketchup
Spices
- ½ tsp Garam Masala
- ½ tsp Black Pepper powder
- ¼ tsp Red Chilli Powder
Veggies – The veggies should be sliced lengthwise and be thin.
- 1 cup chopped cabbage
- 1 chopped capsicum
- 1 carrot(peeled)
- 1 onion
- 1 tbsp ginger
- 1 tbsp garlic
- 2 green chilli
For Cooking Chow Mein
- ¼ cup of oil
- Salt
- Cabbage & spring onion for Garnishing
How To Make Vegetable Chow Mein Recipe
1. Take 1 liter of water in a large Pot. Let it heat on medium flame. Once the water heats up and bubbles start to form, add 1 tsp salt and 1 tbsp oil. Let it boil.
2, Add the plain noodles to the water Once the water comes to a boil.
3. Cook the noodles on high flame. Keep Stirring and cook until it comes to a boil.
4. After a boil, turn off the flame. Cover the lid and keep it aside for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, remove the lid to check that the noodles have cooked well.
5. Strain the excess water and wash the Noodles separately in a bowl. Coat it with 1-2 tbsp of Refined oil.
6. Take ½ tsp Vinegar in a bowl. Add 1.5 tbsp soya sauce, 1 tbsp Red chilli sauce, 1 tbsp Green chilli sauce, 1 tbsp Tomato Ketchup. Mix it well. Keep it aside.
7. Take the spices in a bowl: ½ tsp Garam Masala, ½ tsp Black Pepper powder, and ¼ tsp Red Chilli Powder. Keep it aside.
8. Chop the following Veggies: 1 cup chopped cabbage, 1 chopped capsicum, 1 carrot(peeled), and 1 onion. Keep it aside.
9. Chop the following veggies: 1 tbsp ginger, 1 tbsp garlic, and 2 green chilli. Keep it aside.
10. Take a Kadai and heat ¼ cup of oil on high flame. When the oil is heated, add the chopped ginger and garlic and cook them for 5-10 seconds.
11. Now, add half of the chopped onions and green chilli. Mix well and cook them for half a minute on high flame.
12. Now, add half of the chopped capsicum and carrot. Mix well and Saute for half a minute.
13. Add the chopped cabbage and Mix well. Cook for 10-15 seconds on high flame.
14. Add the Noodles. Mix it well with the veggies.
15. Add salt as per taste. Also, add the sauces and spices. Mix everything well.
16. Add the rest of the chopped veggies – capsicum, onion, carrot, and cabbage. Turn off the flame and mix everything well.
Serve it hot and garnished with chopped cabbage, and spring onion. Enjoy the delicious street-style Veg Chowmein.
